This week we had the hard task of preparing the first Assembly for the year. Marvin, Leala, Love, James, and Kelis designed the slideshow and presented it. Kushla helped with the tech side of the presentation. Here is a copy of the slide show we presented.

Basketball Bonanza
This term we are lucky enough to have people from the Rams organisation come to school to help us improve our basketball skills. This week we had Donna and Zach helping us.
We had a chance to improve our ball skills and to play some basketball related games.
Magic Moments
We were lucky enough to have Elgregoe visit us on Friday morning. He preformed 'Magic with a message' and let us know we have the power to make good choices.
Some of the messages he shared is that any type of bullying is bad, whether it is verbal physical or cyber bullying. He encouraged us to be caring, responsible, respectful, accepting and trustworthy. With the help of Stinger the puppet he shared what we can do when we use our WITS. WITS means walk away, ignore, talk to someone and seek help. Another message he had was about treating everyone equally.
Elgregoe was assisted by his wife Sue, and brought along a lot of different birds to help with the show. Some of his birds were from Brazil, the Solomon Islands and Africa.
His final trick involved Sue getting into a locked box. It was a fantastic way to end the show. Overall it was a very interesting and amazing show.

Mihi Whakatau
On Tuesday morning we welcomed new people to the school with a mihi whakatau. We all had to sit outside (it was raining a little bit). The Trusted Trekkers in our class were allowed to sit on the chairs.
A man called Hector (Whaea Heather's husband) spoke for us and then we sang Aneī Matou.
