On Tuesday morning we welcomed new people to the school with a mihi whakatau. We all had to sit outside (it was raining a little bit). The Trusted Trekkers in our class were allowed to sit on the chairs.
A man called Hector (Whaea Heather's husband) spoke for us and then we sang Aneī Matou.
After that Mr Martyn spoke on behalf of the new people and they sang to us. The staff and visitors Hongied and had something to eat.
It was a great way to welcome the new people to our school.
Kia ora ruma tekau.
ReplyDeleteI missed out on this as I had an appointment.
It's a great way to welcome the new tamariki and whanau to our school which becomes their school also.
I hope you all had a great first day.
